    Katy, a passionate advocate for the arts, is dedicated to empowering writers to cultivate sustainable and fulfilling careers. She firmly believes in the transformative power of mentorship and the importance of fostering robust networks to nurture creativity. With a specialised focus on the arts, Katy brings extensive expertise in program development and communication strategy garnered from her tenure in the non-profit sector. Holding degrees in Architectural Design and the Visual Arts, she is also an accomplished interdisciplinary artist with a wide-reaching exhibition portfolio. Katy's artistic contributions have been recognised with numerous accolades, including two Canberra Critics Circle awards (2017, 2014), the Michael Hobbs OAM People’s Choice Award (2020), and the prestigious Rosalie Gascoigne Memorial Award (2018).

  • Miriam Wicks-Wilson

    Operations Manager

    Miriam Wicks-Wilson is MARION’s Operations Manager. Miriam’s role at MARION includes coordinating memberships and facilitating our workshops & events. She also operates as the main point of contact for many of our member interactions. She was previously MARION’s Admin and Programming Officer.

    Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts (French Language and Culture, and Gender, Sexuality and Culture) from the Australian National University. She is excited to continue using her skills to support Canberra writers and uplift marginalised voices. When she’s not working, you can find her with her head in a book, cooking a new dish, or caring for her ever-growing collection of indoor plants.

  • Zhi Cham

    Creative Producer

    Zhi is an experimental poet/artist based on Ngunnawal, Ngunawal, Ngambri country. Their debut poetry chapbook, blur by the, was recognised by the Anne Elder Award (2019), ACT Writing and Publishing Awards (2020), Mary Gilmore Award (2020), and the Small Press Network Book of the Year Award (2020).

    Zhi forms one half of the experimental poetry/sound duo known as 莎瑜 (ShaYu) with 黑芝麻 (HeiZhiMa). As a duo, they have co-developed a series of tracks that explores queer love and longing.

    Zhi is grateful to have grown their creative practice through the continual support of You Are Here since the inaugural Cahoots program in 2019; and subsequently through我-in-process in 2020, an offshoot of Cahoots designed by Zora Pang.

  • Natasha Seymour


    Development Officer

    Natasha is a writer and arts worker of Indo-Trinidadian descent. She is an experienced publicist, events coordinator, communications manager, writer and editor. She’s also a dedicated worker rights activist and participated in a panel at the 2023 Women’s Rights at Work conference. She has a Masters of Creative Writing and Publishing from the University of Melbourne. Her writing and research about gender, family and identity has been published in The Guardian (Aus) and her short story ‘Field Notes’ was shortlisted for the Everything Change climate anthology (Arizona University). She has a passion for Australian literature, and funnels this passion into book-reviews Substack called “Tell me what to read”.
