Sandra Renew’s poetry addresses a lesbian life lived on the fringes of heterosexuality and the perils thereof. She lives and works on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land and on Yuin country in the shadow of Gulaga. Her poetry collections are 'The Ruby Red’s Affair' (Ginninderra Press) 2022; 'It’s the sugar, Sugar', Recent Work Press, 2021; 'Acting Like a Girl', Recent Work Press, 2019; and 'The Orlando Files', Ginninderra Press, 2018.
Sandra’s collection, 'Acting Like a Gir'l, Recent Work Press, 2019, won the 2020 ACT Writing and Publishing Award for Poetry and was shortlisted for the 2020 ACT Book of the Year.
PS Cottier lives on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. She is the author of eight books of poetry, and has won prizes or been commended in awards here and there. Her poems swerve wildly between particular details of the natural world and the wonders of cars and other vehicles. Just to show she’s not a total rev-head, she wrote a pamphlet about riding her bike around Canberra, and the wildlife near Parliament House, called Paths Into Inner Canberra. She currently edits poetry for 'The Canberra Times', and writes numerous book reviews. She enjoys birdwatching and collecting garden gnomes, who manifest the unsettling weirdness she sometimes achieves in her poetry. She possesses a PhD and a law degree, as well as the many pointy-capped concrete ornaments.
