The KYD Mentors Program
The KYD Mentors Program is a comprehensive and structured editorial mentorship program designed to support early-career writers in the development of a long-form work of fiction or nonfiction.
Writers across Australia can apply to work with the mentor of their choice over a five-month period. Applications are now open for the next round of mentorships, which will begin in February and end in June 2021. Applications close at 5pm (AEDT), 17 November.
A mentorship consists of close reading and reporting on your work in progress (10–12,000 words at a time, totalling up to 60,000 words), along with five consultations over Skype or the phone over the five-month period.
KYD mentors are experienced, award-winning writers, editors and teachers, with valuable insights into both the publishing industry and the creative regime required to craft a long-form manuscript. A mentorship will leave you inspired, motivated and armed with lots of new skills.
Cost: $3299
