Pitch to Publisher with Julia Carlomagno

ACT Writers is excited to present Online: Pitch to Publisher with the wonderful Julia Carlomagno from Black Inc Books. The series will allow participants the opportunity become more comfortable crafting and refining a pitch, as well as some practical tips for submitting to a publisher. There will be an opportunity to receive feedback from Julia and the group.

This is a workshop that is not to be missed!
Please note: this workshop requires attendees bring their own writing to work upon.
Attendees have the option of uploading up to three chapters or 10,000 words (whichever is the shorter), double-spaced of your manuscript. A Dropbox link will be emailed to you after booking if you would like to take up this option. Julia requires this a week in advance, so if you are taking this option, please upload your work a week before the session.
About the Expert
Julia is an associate publisher and managing editor at Black Inc., where she is lucky to work with some of the country’s best writers. She has worked at a variety of publishing companies including Scribe, Penguin and Macmillan. Julia has won both of the national awards for editing, the Barbara Ramsden Award for Excellence in Editing and the Rosanne Fitzgibbon Editorial Award for Editorial Excellence (the Rosie), and is a graduate of the Yale Publishing Course. She has a master in publishing, serves on the board at youth literary organisation Express Media, and has taught editing at RMIT University in Melbourne. Authors she has worked with include Anna Krien, Alice Pung, Kate Holden and Maxine Beneba Clarke.
