Ginsights with Samia Goudie

Big River Distilling Co and Paperchain Bookstore Canberra co-host Ginsights with guest author Samia Goudie. Samia, who identifies as a Queer Bundjalung woman, was removed and grew up on Ngunnawal/ Ngambri country where she now lives and writes.
Samia Goudie is a multimedia/ performance artist/ writer and a member of UsMob writers, FNAWN (First Nations Australian writers’ network) and MARION. Samia has worked supporting Indigenous/ First Nations people’s communities and Individuals through her academic and advocacy work in health and medicine especially in the areas of disabilities, mental health, and LGBTQIA+ issues. She is also a Fulbright Alumni and has shared her work Nationally and Internationally.
Samia has been widely published in anthologies and in 2022 won the KRG, Aunty Kerry Reed-Gilbert FNAWN poetry award, which is incredibly meaningful to her as Aunty Kerry Reed-Gilbert was always encouraging and a mentor for so many First Nations Writers. Samia has just finished a Memoir.
At Ginsights we will hear readings of poetry and prose through which Samia has shared her profound experiences, wisdom and calls to action against injustice.
