Established in 1948, UQP has consistently produced culturally significant works that enrich and inspire readers and make a major contribution to the fabric of arts and literature in Australia and the world.
UQP is known for publishing literary works, poetry and First Nations stories and has launched the careers of some of Australia’s most highly respected authors including Peter Carey, David Malouf, Melissa Lucashenko and Tony Birch. UQP was named Small Publisher of the Year by the Australian Book Industry Awards three years in a row (2021, 2022 and 2023) and is Queensland’s only major publishing house with domestic and international distribution.
