BOOK LAUNCH EVENT
Emergency Emergency - Vehicles to the Rescue
Saturday 26 March 2022
11:30am - 1:30pm
Fire trucks, police cars and ambulances too! Here come the vehicles to rescue you.
Emergency Emergency - Vehicles to the Rescue is a delightful picture book about the people who keep us safe and the vehicles getting them where they need to be.
There will be Fire Trucks, the chance to meet firefighters and other emergency service personnel, some surprise special guests, colouring in, giveaways, and readings of the book. Book Cow Bookshop from Kingston will also be in attendance with a pop up bookstall and of course there are Museum Tours where kids and their accompanying grown ups can see lots of different emergency equipment including some fire trucks that are over 100 years old!
And children can also get their photo taken in a special, just-the-right size, fire truck!
Rhiân Williams is a local Canberra author whose first book Ten Little Figs was a CBCA Notable Book in 2021 and was also shortlisted for Speech Pathology Book of the Year in 2021. As a volunteer with her local bushfire brigade she is very delighted to think Emergency Emergency - Vehicles to the Rescue will help children, their parents and others learn about emergency vehicles and the important safety message of calling Triple Zero in an emergency!
