Bodies of Men

Bodies of Men celebrated at packed launch

Fellow author, Robyn Cadwallader, spoke warmly at the launch, and celebrated Nigel's often bold and experimental prose (you can read Robyn's words and own summary of the launch on her website). It was a full-house as Nigel thanked his publisher at Hachette, Robert Watkins, and agent, Gaby Naher.

The Street Theatre bulged at the seams on Thursday 16 May, as author, HARDCOPY program coordinator and much-loved Canberra arts advocate, Nigel Featherstone, launched his brand new novel.

Released by Hachette in April, Bodies of Men tells "a beautifully evocative tale of two men whose lives are brought together in tragedy". The story explores courage, bravery, masculinity and love against the unique military backdrop of World War Two.

Nigel's prior works include the story collection Joy (2000), his debut novel Remnants (2005), and The Beach Volcano (2014), which is the third in a series of novellas. He wrote the libretto for The Weight of Light, a contemporary song cycle that had its world premiere in 2018.

Warmest congratulations from the ACT Writers Centre team and Board to Nigel, who has worked so very hard supporting the centre over the past 6 years.
