OMAR MUSA is an author, poet, rapper and visual artist from Queanbeyan, NSW. He has released three poetry books (including Killernova), five hip hop records, and written an acclaimed one man play, Since Ali Died. He was named one of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Young Novelists of the Year in 2015 for his novel Here Come the Dogs and long-listed for the Miles Franklin Award. He received a standing ovation at TEDx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House. Omar is based between Brooklyn and Borneo.

Join Graeme Simsion as he makes a stop in Canberra as part of the Great Australian Bookshop Tour with Anne Buist.
Graeme Simsion is a NYT bestselling novelist whose books have been translated into forty languages, with several in development for the screen. He leads a popular seminar based on his book, The Novel Project: A Step by Step Guide to your Novel, Memoir or Biography.
In this seminar, Graeme will cover the end-to-end process of writing, from premise to proofreading, as described in The Novel Project.

About Angela Slatter.
Angela Slatter is a highly experienced freelance editor, mentor, and manuscript assessor. She has worked with (among many others) Queensland Literary Awards finalist Al Campbell (The Keepers), Queensland Writers Fellowship recipient Kali Napier, and award-winning author Kathleen Jennings.
Angela Slatter is the author of six novels, including The Path of Thorns, All the Murmuring Bones, and the forthcoming The Briar Book of the Dead, as well as eleven short story collections, three novellas, and over 200 short stories and articles on the craft of writing. She’s won a World Fantasy Award, a British Fantasy Award, a Ditmar, two Australian Shadows Awards and seven Aurealis Awards. Her work has been translated into multiple languages. She has an MA and a PhD in Creative Writing and teaches creative writing. She’s collaborated with Mike Mignola on a new series from Dark Horse Comics, Castle Full of Blackbirds, set in the Hellboy Universe.

About Melinda Smith.
Prime Minister's Literary Award winning poet Melinda Smith lives and works on unceded Ngunnawal, Ngambri and Ngarigo country and is the author of eight books. In addition to successfully gaining multiple arts grants for her own work, Melinda was a peer assessor for the Australia Council Literature Board from 2017-2020. She has also assessed grants and judged writing prizes (across many literary genres) for artsACT, The Australia Institute, The Queensland Writers’ Centre, the Hunter Writers’ Centre and MARION ACT.

About Julia Carlomagno.
Julia Carlomagno is the publisher & director at Monash University Publishing. She has been associate publisher/managing editor at Black Inc. and senior editor at Scribe. She has also worked at Penguin and Macmillan, and as deputy editor of Australian Foreign Affairs. Julia is the recipient of two national editing awards, the Barbara Ramsden Award and the Rosanne Fitzgibbon Award for Editorial Excellence. She has a master in publishing, taught editing at RMIT and has judged several literary prizes. Authors she has worked with include Anna Krien, Alice Pung, Kate Holden and Briohny Doyle.
