Peter Papathanisou

Peter Papathanasiou is an acclaimed international author, including a historical memoir and a modern-day crime thriller fiction series, both of which are now being adapted for the screen. Peter has published four books, with two more recently commissioned through his UK publisher, MacLehose Press, part of Hachette. His books have been translated into foreign languages and reviewed in Australia, NZ, UK, Ireland, USA and Germany. Peter's writing has otherwise been published by such outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Chicago Tribune, The Seattle Times, Good Weekend, Frankie, Meanjin and Overland. He holds a PhD in biomedical science from ANU and a MA in creative writing from City St George's, University of London. He has appeared at many Australian literary festivals; conducted writing internships at Varuna in the Blue Mountains, The New School in New York, and Arvon Foundation in the UK to develop his craft; and received artistic grants to support his writing and screen adaptations.
