Celebrating First Nations Poetry Across Generations
Join Us Mob Writing for a powerful poetry event that celebrates First Nations voices across generations, bringing together foundational poets of the late 1960s, today’s leading contemporary writers, and creative work from Us Mob Writing. This special gathering highlights the enduring threads of cultural continuity, resilience, and progress expressed through poetry.
Audiences will experience readings that honour the groundbreaking writers who helped shape modern First Nations literature, alongside vibrant new work by emerging and established poets who continue to expand and reimagine the form.
In addition to the readings, participants are invited to take part in an interactive poetry‑writing session, where you will have the opportunity to create your own poems. Guided by experienced First Nations poets, this workshop offers a culturally safe space for creative expression, learning, and connection.
This event invites the community to listen, write, reflect, and join in celebrating the depth and strength of First Nations storytelling.
