That Poetry Thing presents: Heather Taylor Johnson (SA)

Heather Taylor-Johnson writes on Kaurna land, where she received an Arts Fellowship to write essays on the body in states of transition. Her seventh book of poetry will be out early 2026: I Lost Someone Then Found Them In My Body. Heather was excited to debut this collection at Adelaide Writers’ Week but withdrew her participation because she believes in free speech and abhors the genocide. This event will be the first time she’s read from the new book. Her third novel is Little Bit, a work of autofiction.

Also on the night there is Quite a Big Open Mic, continuing That Poetry Thing’s tradition of sharing live poetry, each poet has three minutes, sign up on the night with MC Sarah St Vincent Welch, so come a bit before 7pm to get a place.
