Michael Sharkey taught, edited, reviewed, and promoted others’ poetry until 2016. He refrained from self-promotion from 2013 until 2016, when he separated from editorship of the Australian Poetry Journal and spent time in Germany, Italy, and New Zealand.

In 2018 he published a volume of Australian (Victorian) women’s poetry of World War One (revised and reprinted in 2019). Two collections of his own poetry followed: In the Real World (and other poems) in 2017, and The Foliage in the Underworld in 2019.

His most recent book, What If I Told You?—subtitled Unlikely Love Poems on Several Occasions—is a miscellany of seventy-seven uncollected, mostly unpublished poems in casual fourteen-line verses dating from 1965 until 2022. It is published by Puncher & Wattmann.

Natalie Cooke is a Canberra based writer interested in people and landscapes. Her first poetry collection, Wrestling with Bees (Life Before Man/Gazebo Books), was released in 2022. She was the recipient of an Anne Edgeworth Fellowship in 2020, which enabled her to work with Melinda Smith to develop the manuscript for Wrestling with Bees, and was a Katharine Susannah Prichard Fellow in 2019. Her poems have been published in a number of anthologies and magazines.

Presented with the support of That Poetry Thing.
