Damen O’Brien is a multi-award-winning poet based in Brisbane. Damen's prizes include The Moth Poetry Prize, the Peter Porter Poetry Prize and the Newcastle Poetry Prize amongst many others. Most recently he was the recipient of the Canberra University Vice Chancellor's International Poetry Competition and the Buzzwords International Poetry Competition. Damen's poems have been published in Island, Overland, Mississippi Review, Atlanta Review, New Ohio Review, Poetry Wales and other journals. His poems have been nominated for a Pushcart and have been highly commended in the Forward prizes. Damen's first book of poetry was Animals With Human Voices (Recent Work Press, 2021). His second book of poetry, Walking the Boundary, is available now through Pitt Street Poetry.

Melinda Smith has been poeting for 25 years on unceded Ngunnawal and Ngambri country. Her latest book is Man-handled (Recent Work Press, 2020). She is the author of seven other poetry books, including the 2014 Prime Minister’s Literary Award winner, Drag down to unlock or place an emergency call. She also edits, teaches, and translates from Japanese.
