Program Call Out
ACTW Program Submissions now open
The ACT Writers artistic program is designed to be adaptive and responsive to the sector’s needs. Each annual artistic program is tailored to address the multiple challenges facing Australian writers in realistic and sustainable ways. The program is underpinned by values that form four core pillars: Advocacy, Connection, Development and Celebration of ACT region writers. All programming must serve at least one of these pillars. The ACT Writers artistic program prioritises developing, highlighting, and sharing diverse voices; delivering accessible, high-quality development opportunities to writers of all backgrounds; and providing practical insights into the Australian publishing industry.
The ACT Writers artistic program aims to:

• Inform and uphold best practices in the sector, including offering ASA payment rates to all professionals,
• Foster a creative atmosphere to help all writers develop new ideas, collaborations, and connections,
• Provide ACT region writers with opportunities to be exposed to new audiences
• Assist ACT region writers to connect with the industry, including the broader arts sector
