The Last Pieces of Me

2025

Every secret leaves a scar. Every scar tells a story.

From the quiet towns of 1940s rural Victoria to the restless present in Sydney, Elise's life has been pieced together from love, loss, and long-buried secrets. Abandoned by her father and betrayed by those she had trusted most, she endures abuse, separation from her family, and years of drifting-until she builds a fragile stability with her husband, Mark. But war's shadows follow them both, and the past, with its secrets, refuses to stay hidden.

The Last Pieces of Me is a moving Australian family saga: a powerful but tender portrait of lost innocence, resilience, memory, and the fragments that make a life whole. Through a strong narrator's voice, the novel explores the scars of trauma, the tenacity of love, and the cost-and power-of forgiveness. It reveals what it takes to make peace with the past.

Perfect for readers of Kristin Hannah and Kate Morton.
